Each year
Women Working in Corrections presents an award to an individual, male or
female, who has made outstanding contributions to Corrections, North Carolina
Correctional Association and Women Working in Corrections. This is a great
opportunity to honor a deserving individual at your work location for their
professionalism.
Nominations are presently being accepted for the 2009 Award which will be
presented during the closing brunch at the Annual Conference in Durham, North
Carolina. Each member may make one nomination. If
more than one nomination is received from a member, the nominations will be
returned.
The deadline for ALL nominations is September 1, 2009. Nominations will not
accepted after that date. Nominations must be submitted on the nomination
form and mailed to Award Committee, P.
O. Box 10404, Raleigh, NC 27605-0404.
Each nomination will be reviewed to ensure that the person is eligible based
on the following criteria.

A
nominee’s performance, one of the bases in the selection process, must be
clearly shown as performance above and beyond that which is expected of a
dedicated member. A member who has fully and completely discharged all of
their duties and satisfied all of the requirements of Women Working in Corrections.
Please list the accomplishments of nominees in the workplace, the community,
North Carolina Correctional Association and any national recognition
received. This may include letters of recommendation for outstanding
performance of duties, employee of the quarter/year.
The recipient of the award must have been active in the North Carolina
Correctional Association and participated in activities sponsored by Women
Working in Corrections for a period of three (3) years. The nominee must have
also exemplified dependability and professionalism.
